- Qualifications for Education: The applicant must have passed the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education’s Madhyamik Examination or an equivalent test.
- Language Requirement: Fluency in Bengali speaking, reading, and writing is required of the applicant. Permanent inhabitants of the hill subdivisions in the districts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong, however, are exempt from this condition.
- West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961 restrictions would be applicable to applicants from the hill subdivisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts.
